You can find us in Durham Outdoor Market Place most Saturdays.

There's been an outdoor market in Durham since Saxon times. It's a real joy to be part of the long line of potters that must have traded there.

There's lots to inspire a ceramic artist in Durham - from the mighty columns of the cathedral to the treasures hidden in the oriental museum.
It's a wonderful place to be.
That inspiration is woven into our pots.

OUR TEAM
Fieldhouse Pottery is the quintessential cottage business.
It is run by Kathy and Martin,
from their home on Fieldhouse Lane - with quite a bit of 'help' from Meow.
​
Ceramics requires such a diversity of skills, that it is surprisingly common to meet 'pottery couples' who split the job between them.
​
Kathy specialises in form, function and throwing and Martin in the wonderful world of alchemy, that is glazing.
​
​
All our glazes are made from scratch and are bespoke to Fieldhouse Pottery. They have taken years of trial, error and exploration to develop.
